The carving runs to the edge on three sides — a tree reaching over the top, pines to the right, water across the middle — so the panel reads as one scene rather than lettering with decoration around it.
White fill rather than black, because sapele is a mid-to-dark reddish brown and black lettering in it reads as a smudge from across a garden. This is the contrast rule the design tool now checks for you, in the piece that taught it.
